Where does Confluence User Export app save the export files on the Confluence Server?

Files are created and stored in the Confluence temp directory that is located in Confluence home directory. This directory is cleaned up by Confluence on a daily basis so export files are only placed on the server for a short while before being deleted.

The Confluence temp directory will be created by Confluence User Export if it does not exists.

Why does the full user export job take so long time to complete?

In order to prevent a heavy load on the Confluence server, the Confluence User Export app fetches Confluence users in batches of 20. This can take some time if the Confluence server has thousands of users and several user directories with user data.

What versions of Confluence are compatible with Confluence User Export?

Confluence User Export app will work on version 6.0.1 and to the latest version of Confluence server which right now is 7.0.1. You can read more about Confluence server versions here.

How is the Confluence user license field determined in Confluence User Export?

Confluence User Export app uses the following rules to determine if a Confluence user is licensed:

  • The Confluence user MUST be enabled.

  • The Confluence user MUST have 'Can use' global permissions either by a group membership or single assigned to this global permission.

  • The Confluence user is NOT an anonymous user.
